Sweetest Day is October 21st and we have 20 ideas of fun things you can do with your sweetie this Sweetest Day!

If you are going to be in Canton, Ohio on Saturday, October 21st, remember it’s Sweetest Day!

Sweetest Day originated in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio by a candy company that wanted to celebrate the Sweetest Day in the Year and distributed over 20,000 boxes of candy to “newsboys, orphans, the elderly, and the poor”. Today, Sweetest Day is celebrated throughout the Midwest on the Third Saturday in October as a celebration to show our loved ones what they mean to us.

  1. Head over to the Hall of Fame Village and make a stuffed friend together at the newly opened Build-a-Bear Workshop.
  2. Escape Room Downtown has FOUR escape rooms you can choose from. Go with you and your sweetie or get a group of friends together to help solve the mystery.
  3. Get your craft on with your sweetie at Hot Pots Pottery! Unleash your creativity at Hot Pots where you can choose from pottery painting, canvas painting, candle making, glass fusion, & mosaics.
  4. Want to feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? Visit the Fortress of Fear ScreamPark on Sweetest Day, October 21st, where the first 100 ladies through the gates receive a giveaway.
  5. Try a local ethnic cuisine! Basil Asian Bistro in Downtown Canton has amazing Thai food, Desert Inn has delectable Arabic food in Downtown Canton, or try Bombay Sitar for Indian Cuisine in the Belden Village area.
  6. Head to Maize Valley's Fall Fun featuring an 8-acre corn maze, wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, plus the one-of-a-kind patio where you can kick back and enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer made right on the property!
  7. Enjoy the crisp fall air and be serenaded with live music on the Piazza at Gervasi Vineyard. Try one of the delectable pizza pies and finish off the day with a sweet treat like a gelato cake!

  14. The Troll Hole Museum in Alliance is an awesome place to explore for a date, especially if you are looking for a unique experience! The guided tour will give you the history behind the Norwegian troll and you will get to see 18,000 Troll dolls from your childhood.
