Patios for Pooches
Take your appetite and your canine date to one of the many patios that seat dogs, too. Tap into the London-inspired Royal Docks Brewing Co.'s pub culture and spirited outdoor seating environment. Ingredients are mostly Ohio-grown and come from close to home.
At Fat Head's Brewery Canton, beer geeks and dog lovers alike can say cheers to the lively environment near the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Next up, grab a seat on the dog-friendly patio at UnHitched's Woodshop, which crafts wood-fermented beers inside the Deli Ohio building a block from Centennial Plaza. Here, every element of every brew is sources from no more than 400 miles from the taproom.
Bring your own food and your pooch to Codex Brewing or take a pet home. The brewery often hosts events like Pawsitive Ohio pet adoption.
Wine down with views of the Sippo Valley bike trail at Cherry Road Winery in Massillon, a welcome way to take in live music and house-made wines without leaving your dog at home. If a slice would be nice, Demario's Pizza is literally a square deal. If you dine on the patio, you can slip your four-legged companion a taste if you can manage to spare what is known as Canton's best. And at Almost Heaven Homemade Ice Cream, dessert and dogs are included at designated outdoor tables.
Pet Friendly Patios
Romp and Run
Inspired by the popular annual dog swim, a new addition to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort is Splashy Tails dog water park. Your four-footed buddy can paw around in a wading pool with zero entry and play in a dog-themed splash pad.
Nearby in Hartville, exercise your pooch on a 3.1 mile loop trail at Quail Hollow Park's dog-friendly purple trail, the largest path on site. Picnic spots and places for pit stops are conveniently located. Or, explore Canal Fulton's amenity-loaded dog park that includes a trail, swimming, running field, off-leash zone and designated areas for big and small dogs.
Stark County is a bone-a-fied dog lovers destination with so many more recreational options to explore, from Furnas Dog Park to Veterans Dog Park.
Hit the trail with your furry companion!
Out and About
Pick up a personalized pet tag or splurge on an engravable Yeti bowl at Hartville Hardware. If you're up for a nature adventure, check out Beech Creek Botanical Garden & Nature Preserve, which welcomes dogs, unlike many botanical gardens across the country. The park just asks you steer clear of the butterfly house and keep pets leashed.
Get a pet membership at the Massillon Museum for $10 and attend fun pooch-friendly events, such as workshops where you can create portraits and ornaments. Or, schedule a session to commission a deluxe fine art, custom pet portrait painted by artist BZTAT.
Looking for Tuesday plans? Pups on the Piazza at Gervasi Vineyard Resort & Spa invites leashed dogs to the outdoor dining area and surrounding lawn. Enjoy a stroll along the brick path that's connected to the Stark Parks Trail and sneak a visit to The Still House's front porch.
