Take a step back in time to 1882 when you stay overnight at the Thomas H. Russell House on Historic 4th Street in Downtown Massillon. The home is on the National Register of Historic Places. As a guest, you will have all 4,800 square feet of it to yourself to enjoy the beautiful original woodwork, stained glass, handcrafted staircase, and all of the Victorian era decor. As you enter through the vestibule, you will note the hand-carved staircase and fresco ceilings in the foyer. A formal parlor to your right and a grand sitting room to your left. The impressive wood paneled library offers an intimate seating area with its gas fireplace, built-in bookcases and leaded glass windows. The formal dining room with stained glass windows offers an elegance of times gone by. With both a front and rear staircase, this four bedroom, two and a half bath home gives you a glimpse of the past with its servants quarters near the main sleeping areas. You will enjoy modern conveniences such as internet and cable television but you can also just forget about every day living and pretend you are living in 1882!
