Veterans Park & Disc Golf
Overview
Veterans Park offers a dog park, ADA accessible playground, splash pad, picnic shelter, a sledding hill and a 1.09 loop trail. The trail also connects to the Stark Parks Middle Branch Trail, a 7.7 Mile Trail from Canton to Plain Township.
Veterans Memorial Hillside:
The memorial includes a Keystone Monument, Honor Garden with POW/MIA Honor Chair, Blue Star Marker, Gold Star Marker, POW/MIA Monument, Purple Heart Monument, Battlefield Cross, and Bald Eagle Statue.
Disc Golf:
The Disc Golf Course features 9 holes with a variety of inclines and wooded and open areas.
Playground & Splash Pad:
Veterans Park includes an ADA accessible playground and splash pad. The Splash Pad is open daily during the summer season from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
Dog Park:
The dog park is on the east side of the park, along a group of trees that provides shade to park goers and their dogs. This free-access dog park is open year-round and has a 1.5 acre small dog park and a 2.5 acre park for large dogs.
Middle Branch Trail:
The Middle Branch Trail is maintained by Stark Parks and connects Canton City Parks including Robert E. Schreiber Park, Reifsnyder Park, Oak Park, and Martindale Park. The trail continues north along the railroad tracks then meanders through Gervasi Vineyard and Rice’s Nursery. The trail then loops around Plain Township’s Veterans Community Park, continues north across Schneider St., and loops around GlenOak High School.
Monarch Meadows Preserve:
The park also features 19 additional acres of pristine wetland known as "Monarch Meadows,” housing a federally endangered species, the Tri-Colored Bat.
